Classroom

Francese, a business major, graduated from Stony Brook with summa cum laude honors. She was a three-time America East Fall Honor Roll, three-time America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and seven-time Dean’s List recipient. She was also named to the Stony Brook Society of Distinguished Scholar Athletes every semester.

In 2020-21, Francese earned the America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award.

In 2019-20, she was named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American and All-Region selection.

In 2018-19, Francese was named to the All-America East Academic second team.

She is currently pursuing an advanced coaching certificate graduate program.

Character

Francese leads by example, striving for excellence while inspiring others to do the same. She continues to push herself to her limits. Her success in both the classroom and on the field are evidence of her dedication and work.

Even in the face of adversity, she remains level-headed and shows determination. Francese has made her influence felt in every game that she has played at Stony Brook.

She exemplifies integrity, evidenced by her selection to the Academy of Leaders for the Stony Brook Athletics Department.

Community

During her time at Stony Brook, Francese has given back to local youth soccer teams on Long Island. Through coaching, she was able to act as a role model and discuss the importance of being a good student, making smart choices, and work ethic. She was respected and listened to by the athletes due to her stature as a student-athlete.

Francese has also volunteered at the Long Island Veterans Home, where she assisted in moving in patients, played Bingo events, sang holiday songs, and helped with other events. She took pride in being able to give back to the people who gave our country so much.

With the rest of the Stony Brook team, Francese participated in local cleanup projects with the Sunshine Prevention Center in Port Jefferson Station, New York. She also organized toy and food drives for the underprivileged members of the community.

Competition

Francese has had tremendous success at Stony Brook. In 2019, she earned America East Striker of the Year, All-America East first team, and All-Region first team honors. It was the third straight year she earned conference honors.

In 2017, she was named to the All-Rookie Team.

In her time at Stony Brook, Francese has won two America East Championships. She stands fourth in the program’s history in goals, while being the only who to score 30-plus goals since 2001. Francese is also tied for sixth among active DI players with 31 career goals.

Prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, she was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and Top Draw Soccer Preseason Top 100.
