Howard has maintained a spectacular 4.11 GPA as a double major in biology and psychology.

She has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team first team and both the CoSIDA Academic All-District first and second teams. Howard also earned MW and UNM Scholar-Athlete recognition all four years.

Character

Howard is a sincere and trustworthy person who has strong character. She is always concerned with what is right. Howard is a popular person because she is friendly, has a sense of humor, and is sensitive to the needs of others.

On the field, Howard is a tough competitor with a great prowess in the outfield. She is a student of the game and has a desire to learn and grow at all times. She continues to demonstrate her commitment to excellence in academics and athletics, working hard every day.

Howard is a leader for the Lobos and is highly respected by her peers.

Community

Howard works at the UNM Hospital where she shadows a doctor. She assisted with COVID relief by helping in testing patients and also held a MDA charity fundraiser softball clinic in October, with all proceeds donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In addition, Howard volunteers with Lobo softball camps and clinics, as well as the Lobo Cancer Challenge and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico.

Competition

Howard recently competed in the Tokyo Olympics with the Italian National Team. Last season, she started all 46 games in the outfield and led the team in BA (.336), SLG (.728), hits (42), RBI (33), and home runs (12). Howard was also second on the team in OBP (.427 and runs scored (25) while placing third in doubles (nine).

In just Mountain West games, Howard the conference in home runs (eight), was second in SLG (.809), third in total bases (55) and tied for third in walks (12). She also paced the conference in home runs, tied for first in slugging percentage and total bases, tied for second in walks and tied for third in RBI for the entire season.
