Classroom

Thomas excels in the classroom. In May of 2020, he earned his marketing degree with a 3.44 GPA. He was also awarded the 2020 Dr. Prentice Gautt Big 12 Postgraduate Scholarship last year.

In all four years at Baylor, Thomas was named to the Big 12 All-Academic first team.

He is currently working on his Masters of Business Administration with a 4.0 GPA. Thomas hopes to enter law school to pursue a career after baseball.

Character

Thomas is always accountable and holds himself to a higher standard in all facets of life. He takes on a multitude of responsibilities and always does so with a positive attitude.

Since arriving at Baylor five years ago, Thomas has been a team leader. His leadership skills have been extremely vital for his teammates. Thomas is well-versed in baseball and has a great coaching mind. He possesses intangible qualities that make it easier for everyone around him.

Community

Thomas has been an active participant in the Waco community. He has volunteered with local middle schools and several animal shelters.

He volunteers in the annual Trunk of Treat with the Boys and Girls Club, as well as the Martin Luther King Day of Service in 2019.

Thomas has also allocated his time with the Texas Rangers Sports Hall of Fame.

Competition

For his career, Thomas has played in 133 games and started 123. He has tallied a .323 BA, 151 hits, 81 RBI, 78 runs, 33 doubles, and eight home runs with a .453 SLG.

In both 2021 and 2020, he was named a preseason All-Big 12 selection. Thomas, one of the premier defensive catchers, was also named to the 2020 Buster Posey Watch List.

He finished his junior season leading the team with 22 doubles and ranking second with a .335 BA, four home runs, and 32 RBIs.

In 2018, Thomas tallied a .324 BA, 70 hits, 35 runs, 34 RBI, and 10 doubles. He led the team with 41 walks and a .435 OBP. For his efforts, Thomas was named to the All-Big 12 second team.
