Classroom
Duruji has already graduated, earning his degree in education sciences. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in entrepreneurship.
Duruji has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in both of his seasons at Florida and was a nominee for the 2021 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Character
Duruji is entering his second year as a member of the SEC Men’s Basketball Leadership Council.
He is also a founding member of Florida’s Black Student-Athlete Council, which started last summer.
Community
Duruji welcomes his role in the Gainesville community. He is a two-time honoree on the SEC Good Works Team.
He was even more active before the pandemic, participating in numerous summer and after-school programs at local schools, domestic violence shelters, and the Climb for Cancer event. Duruji has also been instrumental in the team’s adoption of Eli, a local 13-year-old boy who has leukemia.
Competition
Last season was Duruju’s first with the Gators. He averaged 6.1 points and 4.4 rebounds while appearing in all 25 games. Duruju posted a season-high 16 points in Florida’s win vs LSU and helped lead the team to an overtime win against Virginia Tech in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to Florida, he was named to the 2018 C-USA All-Freshman Team with Louisiana Tech.
