Classroom

James is on pace to graduate in 2012. He earned his Associates Degree from Tallahassee Community College in 2010 and will graduate with his undergraduate degree in four years after not finishing his high scool career and earning his GED in 2003.

Character

James served a six-year term in the United States Air Force upon earning his GED in 2003. He served the United States in Irag and Qatar from 2003-08 and earned the rank of Staff Sargent. James has become one of the current faces of Florida State University and at 26 years old is a prime example of what a senior in college is supposed to be and how he is supposed to act. He was named a Leader for Life by the National Junior College Athletic Association in 2010.

Community

In only two years on the Florida State campus, he has become one of the top student-athletes in terms of earning and donating service hours. He has participated in the Let Us Play charitable event to help FSU raise money for women’s scholarships, the Relay for Life, the Buddy Walk and he was a coach at the Miracle League Summer Basketball League in 2011.

Competition

James is a two-year starter and last year he helped lead Florida State to the Sweet 16. Florida State finished in third place in the ACC in his first season. James was a Junior College All-American at Tallahassee Community College in 2010.
