Brad Jarreau has excelled in the classroom, compiling a 3.535 GPA while majoring in exercise science. He was named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2014 and 2016 because of his academic success.

Character

Over the course of his career, Jarreau has shown great work ethic and resiliency to become a major part of the Blue Raider baseball team. Jarreau came to MTSU as a walk-on and was projected to not get much playing time in his career. He only started 12 games his first year as a Blue Raider. However, that did not deter him from working on his game to prove to everyone that he could be an everyday starter. His work in the off-season paid off as he started all 59 games his sophomore year. Jarreau has sustained his success from his sophomore to junior year, starting all 55 games as a junior. His dedication and work ethic is hard to come by, which is why he has had such a successful career at MTSU.

Community

Jarreau has been one of the top advocates for community service during his time at MTSU. During his time he has spent quality time with Luke Denson, a little boy with a rare form of cancer who was adopted by the Blue Raider Baseball Family. Team IMPACT brought Luke and the Blue Raider program together, and Luke and Jarreau have spent time together over the last three years. Jarreau has also volunteered his time with the Special Olympics, Rutherford County Public Schools, and the Albert Pujols Foundation.

Competition

Jarreau is a career .316 hitter, with a total of four home runs and 67 RBI over his three year career with MTSU. Jarreau has started all 114 of MTSU’s games over the past two seasons. He is an instrumental part to the Blue Raiders success on the baseball field offensively and defensively as he anchors the MTSU outfield. Jarreau was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team after his stellar 2015 season. His numbers were some of the best in Conference USA: Sixth in C-USA for batting avg. (.338), fourth in hits (81), ninth in runs scored (45). In 2016, Jarreau was named Preseason All-Conference USA. He hit a team second-best .298 and 65 hits on the year, while only making one error in center field in 143 chances.
