Community

At Syracuse, he and other team members have worked with Catholic Charities to appear at local soup kitchens, handing out food and interacting with the less fortunate. Peetoom has also organized a soccer station at the Syracuse OnCenter during the local Special Olympics. He helps teach soccer fundamentals to the physically and mentally challenged at the station and supports competing teams. In high school, Peetoom taught Vacation Bible School at a church in his hometown of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Also in Abbotsford, he serves as a camp coach at Colin Miller’s PDL Soccer Camp.

Competition

Peetoom is the only player in school history to be selected as Syracuse’s defensive MVP three times. He has started all 51 games of his Syracuse career and has five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. He was the central defender in 15 shutouts the last three-plus seasons. As a freshman in 2004, he led Syracuse in goals (4), points (8), and game-winning goals (2).
