Kennedy received his bachelor’s degree in information management from the University of Syracuse, graduating with cum laude honors. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in the same field while maintaining a 3.8 GPA. In addition to his degree, Kennedy owns a certificate of advanced study in information security management.
Earning recognition for his studies, Kennedy is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and has been named to the ACC Honor Roll every season.
He has also completed two internships—with the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital as an IT security intern and with The Athlete Badge as a business development intern.
Character
Kennedy was elected as a team captain for his final season at Syracuse. He also sports the prestigious #11 jersey, which is passed down annually to the team’s defensive leader.
Community
While at Syracuse, Kennedy has completed over 100 hours of community service. He has volunteered with the Team Impact, JDRF, and the Headstrong Foundation.
The Orange’s work with Team Impact important to the team as they ‘signed’ Gavin Sort to be an honorary captain. With JDRF, Kennedy has helped raise funds for Type I Diabetes research. Lastly, with the Headstrong Foundation, Kennedy helped to improve the lives of those impacted by cancer through fundraising initiatives with his teammates.
Competition
Kennedy enters his final season as a three-time All-ACC selection and three-time All-American.
He is one of the most versatile long stick midfielders/defenders in the country and has earned accolades for his play in both positions. Kennedy currently sits ninth in program history in caused turnovers and will look to move up the list this year.
