Brian Corrigan has earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors each of the past three seasons. To qualify for MAAC academic honors, a student must have completed two semesters at their institution and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale. He will graduate with a degree in business administration this spring.

Character

Corrigan was voted a captain for his senior season. He will wear jersey No. 34 this season which honors the legacy of the late Edward Coombs. Coombs passed away in a car accident just before his sophomore year at Marist. Every year, a senior is given this jersey who best represents the outstanding characteristics Coombs demonstrated every day: passion, determination, energy and being a great teammate and member of the community. Corrigan has exemplified all of these characteristics during his time with the lacrosse team.

Community

Corrigan has positively represented the Marist Athletic department through his involvement with multiple community service events. He helped the men’s lacrosse team win the Red Fox Challenge last season, which was founded on serving the community, personal development and supporting fellow student-athletes. At the start of the semester, he volunteered with freshman move-in day and has been active with the hunger walk, coat drive and giving tree around the holidays. He also has participated in the Friends of Jaclyn Angel Walk, which honors and remembers all children and families affected by pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers. He participated in the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run which honors the sacrifices of military and first responders. In addition, he has volunteered with the campus wellness fair, Special Olympics, SAAC Stuffed Shift project, Haviland Middle School Sportsmanship Day and the Highland Lacrosse Club clinics and pen pal program. He has also been active in youth clinics held by the men’s lacrosse team.

Competition

Corrigan entered his senior season as one of the top goalies in the country. In the past two seasons, he has finished in the top 10 in save percentages, saves per game and goals-against average. Over the last two seasons, he has had 385 saves and a save percent average of 60.7 percent. He was named to the All-MAAC First Team in 2017 and an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Second Team member and MAAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. Over the course of his career, he has earned nine defensive player of the week honors. Last season, he was named the team co-MVP.
