Callum Montgomery

University of North Carolina at Charlotte


Callum Montgomery is a two-time second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American and a two-time member of the Conference USA All-Academic Team. In all six semesters of his college career, he has been a member of the university’s chancellor’s list (3.8 GPA or higher). He also holds a 3.9 GPA in biology.


Montgomery is a leader on a 49ers team that has been nationally-ranked for a majority of his college career. He has played a major role in helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament twice in his college career.


Montgomery has helped with numerous youth soccer clinics over the past three years. He also has helped with a Habitat for Humanity project and with the athletic department’s annual Epilepsy Stroll in each of the last three years.


A 2017 first-team All-Conference USA selection, Montgomery was voted preseason Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. Also a second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region selection in 2017, he has earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honors several times in his career. He has been named to College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Teams of the Week several times in his career, as well. As of nomination time, he had scored eight goals and dished out three assists while anchoring a 49ers defense that had recorded 26 shutouts and limited 48 foes to a goal or less.
