Classroom

Clark has earned many academic awards, including the 2019 Mountain West Scholar Athlete, three-time Academic All-MW honoree, and San José State Dean’s Scholar. She is a health science/public health major and would like to become a nurse after graduation.

Character

Cassidy is a leader for the Spartans on and off the field. Clark is a team captain for this season. She excels in the classroom and on the field. She is willing to do what it takes to achieve a goal.

From Head Coach Peter Turner: “Cassidy symbolizes everything that is right about college student-athletes. She is a team leader on the field and in the classroom and leads by example everyday. She brings a passion to play for her teammates to the field each day.”

Community

Cassidy has worked in the community with the softball program. She helped with move-in day on campus, various camps, and BAWSI (Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative), an after school program for girls in grades second through fifth. She worked at Sparta Q all four years, the program’s fundraiser, and a BBQ competition with nearly 30 people/businesses bidding for the title. Clark also went to Washington Elementary in San Jose to interact with the school children.

Competition

She will be a four-year starter for the Spartans at second base. She was the 2019 Mountain West Co-Defensive Player of the Year after committing just three errors on the season. She has a career .348 batting average and ranks in the top-10 at San José State in hitting, walks, hit by pitch, sacrifice flies and double plays turned.
