Classroom

As an integrated science major, Udofia has posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.14 over his first three years. Udofia earned a spot on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List as a freshman, SBC Honor Roll as a sophomore and All-WAC Academic Team as a junior.

Character

Voted team captain as a junior and senior, Udofia is undoubtedly the leader of the Pioneers, vocally and through his actions. With intelligence and a tireless work ethic, Udofia has transformed himself from what he calls a raw, undeveloped player as a freshman to an All-Conference First Team selection in each of the past two seasons. Udofia is extremely well liked and respected, and he is known throughout the campus and community for his integrity, kindness and engaging personality.

Community

Despite his hectic basketball and academic schedule, Udofia values opportunities to help others. Following the recent flooding in Colorado, Udofia volunteered with the Foothills United Way, providing flood relief to those affected. As a way to promote reading to children, Udofia has read stories to students at Saint Ignatius Elementary School in Denver, and he shares his love of basketball by coaching youth players at a variety of clinics. Udofia has also helped his fellow students by volunteering his time and energy to helping freshmen move into their dorms each year that he has been at DU.

Competition

After leading DU to consecutive 22-win seasons, Udofia was voted All-Conference First Team selection as a sophomore (All-Sun Belt) and junior (WAC), as well as NABC All-District First Team in each of the last two seasons. One of the best defensive players in the nation, Udofia was tabbed Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and made the WAC All-Defensive Team as a junior. Heading into his final season, Udofia has been named Preseason All-Mid Major Third Team and Summit League Preseason Player of the Year by College Sports Madness, and Bleacher Report called him the Most Underrated Player in College Basketball. Last season, Udofia ranked 34th in the nation and third in the WAC in blocked shots (2.34 per game), and ranked second in the WAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.81), fourth in steals (1.62), fifth in field goal percentage (.516), and ninth in both scoring (13.3) and assists (3.28 per game). Udofia has 1,120 career points and currently ranks second in DU history in career blocks (186).
