Claire has been named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll after each of the last four years for maintaining an end of the year grade-point average of at least 3.2.

Oberdorf is entering her second season as a softball captain. She is held in high esteem by everyone associated with the program and the athletics department for her leadership and consistent demeanor. She is always positive and supportive of her teammates and has always remained grounded with her own accomplishments.

Claire has been involved in a considerable number of community service activities during her time at Marist. They include: Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie Visits, Dutchess Outreach Lunch Box, MAAC Gives Back Pen Pal Program, Children’s Home Pumpkin Donation, Children’s Home Pumpkin Walk, American Heart Walk, CYO Practice Volunteer, Girl Scouts Sport Sampler, National Kids Day Out, Pleasant Valley All-Star Game Volunteer, ETC Lacrosse Tournament Volunteer, Fox Hill Community Center Tag Sale, Dutchess County SPCA volunteer, Poughkeepsie High School Closet Donation, and the Special Olympics.

Oberdorf has been a two-sport athlete in her five years at Marist. In addition to her time playing softball, she has also been a member of the Marist women’s basketball team. In softball, she was named to the NFCA Top 10 Freshman list in 2016, a year in which she also was named MAAC Rookie of the Year, First Team All-MAAC, and NFCA All-Region. She was the team’s leading hitter (.376) as it set a school record with 45 wins and advanced to NCAA Tournament play. After missing her sophomore year due to a knee injury she suffered while playing on Marist’s women’s basketball team, she rebounded to earn Second Team All-MAAC selections in each of the past two seasons. Claire also played a different primary position in each of the three seasons she has been on the field for softball at this point (second base as a freshman, catcher as a red-shirt sophomore, and third base as a red-shirt junior). She figures to see action at all three positions in 2020 and she was named preseason All-MAAC. In basketball, she started every game at point guard and averaged 10.5 points per game as a sophomore. She has played in 97 career basketball games, making 53 starts.
