Classroom

Conner O’Neil enjoyed a strong semester in the classroom last fall, posting a 3.48 GPA. As a result, he has improved his GPA above a 3.0. O’Neil has shown one of the biggest turnarounds on the entire team in the classroom. One to admit of his struggles and lack of focus in the classroom early on in his collegiate career, O’Neil has become one of the standout students on the team over the past year.

Character

Described by Head Coach Greg Moore as a leader and a worker, O’Neil is a leader on the team and a resilient individual who has come to value school over his time with CSUN.

Moore also described O’Neil as the epitome of an underdog. An individual who many thought would never compete at the Division I level, O’Neil went on to break records at CSUN. Also, when some doubted he could keep up in school, he showed the discipline and balance to become an accomplished student.

Community

O’Neil has participated in numerous volunteer opportunities with CSUN. Over the last three years, O’Neil has volunteered at the Nautica Triathlon Fundraiser. He has also assisted senior citizens at retirement homes, taught little leaguers at CSUN clinics and has participated in Harper for Kids reading and life-skills program at local elementary schools.

Competition

Conner O’Neil owns the most saves in CSUN history with 22. He began his career in 2015, posting 12 saves to become the all-time single-season saves leader in team history. He later became the all-time career save leader, earning 10 more in 2016. O’Neil is also sixth in team history in career ERA (2.53). Over his career, he has racked up eight wins and 137 strikeouts in 124.2 innings of work.
