Oberbeck is a history major with a 3.4 GPA. Throughout his time at Yale, he has pursued several high-level summer internships, which have prepared him for life after graduation. In the summer of 2014, he served as a corporate finance intern at Allen & Company, which was preceded by his turn as a research intern at Global Leveraged Capital & Co. during the summer of 2013. His summer jobs have included working in the neurobiology lab at Columbia, working in a republican governor’s race and running a rising dot-com business. He also studied at London School of Economics in the summer of 2012.

Community

Oberbeck serves as a student-coordinator and mentor for New Haven Inner-City Youth Lacrosse. He also participated in the Yale lacrosse team’s fundraising efforts for the Vs. Cancer Foundation, which raised $22,573, as well as a fundraiser for suicide awareness and prevention at the University of Virginia called the “6th Annual Will Barrow Memorial Flag Football Tournament.”

Competition

Oberbeck was named a 2015 preseason Honorable Mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse and was drafted by the New York Lizards in the sixth round of the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft. He was selected as first-team All-Ivy and first-team All-New England in 2014. He also won the 2014 Walter T. Collins Award as the team’s offensive MVP after leading the team with 38 goals and 50 points last season. He is now second all-time in career goals scored and will finish in the top 10 on the career points chart.
