Davis graduated with a 3.33 GPA. He has earned both WKU Dean’s List and WKU President’s List honors once.

He is currently working towards a Master of Business Administration, carrying a 3.66 GPA.

Sims has been an active participant in the community at Murray State and Western Kentucky. With the Boys and Girls Club, he assisted children with their Christmas shopping.

He organized the Hoops for Heroes event by the SAAC, collecting donations to allow a veteran to attend the OVC Basketball Tournament.

Sims has volunteered at multiple baseball clinics, including the Paducah Chiefs Baseball Organization, Murray State Baseball Camp, Cape Cod Baseball Camp, and Coastal Plains League Camp.

He has also volunteered with the Warren County Reading Event, Superior Care Home Nursing and Rehabilitation, and St. John’s Knights of Columbus Hall


Sims has garnered accolades at both Murray State and Western Kentucky.

Prior to 2021, Sims was named to the preseason All-CUSA and preseason Perfect Game College Baseball All-CUSA teams. He was also placed on the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award Watch List. For his career at WKU, Sims has tallied a .351 BA, .512 SLG, 59 hits, 32 RBI, and 32 runs in 43 games.

In 114 games at Murray State, Sims finished with a .333 BA, .552 SLG, 150 hits, 102 RBI, and 91 runs. In 2018, he led the country in doubles per game and became the new record holder at Murray State and in the OVC. For his efforts, Sims was named to the All-OVC second team.

In 2017, he was named the OVC Rookie of the Year. Sims was honored as a freshman All-American by multiple media outlets.
