Duncan Robinson currently has a 3.31 GPA as a government major and earned a spot on the Academic All-Ivy League Spring Team in 2015. Three times he has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for having a 3.5 GPA in a single term, coming in Spring 2014, Winter 2014 and Winter 2015.

Character

“A highly respected teammate, Robinson was voted to serve as a co-captain for the 2016 season. The best teams I have coached have had their best and most talented players be the hardest workers and lead not only in words but by example. Duncan truly personifies those traits.” - Bob Whalen, Dartmouth Head Coach

Community

Robinson has volunteered with the CHaD HERO Half Marathon—a fundraiser for the children’s hospital in the Upper Valley—each of the last four years. In January, he served as a volunteer at the Upper Valley Special Olympics Winter Games as well. Robinson also volunteered last fall with the Big Green Readers, teaching and reading to elementary students at a local school.

Competition

The 2015 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, Robinson received second-team All-New England honors. Twice Robinson has been named to the All-Ivy League First Team, first as a reliever during his sophomore year, then as a starter last year. He entered his senior year with a career record of 13-5 with a 2.96 ERA over 136.2 innings, striking out 101 batters while issuing just 34 walks. Opponents have hit just .243 against him in his first three seasons. In Ivy League play, he sports a career 1.30 ERA over 62.1 innings and has tied for the league lead in wins each of last two seasons. He opened the 2015 season with five shutout innings against 14th-ranked Texas A&M. Among his six victories were a seven-inning complete-game 3-1 triumph over Princeton with a career-high eight strikeouts; a three-hit, seven-inning shutout at Yale; and eight innings of one-run ball at Cal Poly. In his nine starts last year, he walked one or none on seven occasions, and in his two starts in the Ivy League Championship Series, Robinson has allowed only two earned runs over 14.2 innings with 14 strikeouts.
