Easton Bertrand



Bertrand has already received his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota.

He is currently working towards a strategic marketing graduate certificate, maintaining a 3.33 GPA.


In his time at Minnesota, Bertrand has demonstrated multiple examples of his character. He has navigated personal and family issues, including his father suffering a stroke during his sophomore year. In addition, Bertrand has overcome multiple injuries each year on campus.

Even through those tough circumstances, Bertrand has maintained his character and stayed one of the program’s unquestioned leaders. This was never more present than his efforts in helping the Gophers navigate the season during the heart of the pandemic. Bertrand has maintained his mental toughness through all of his obstacles and found a way to make his peers better.

“Bertrand has multiple examples of leadership, overcoming obstacles, teamwork, work ethic, and integrity. He has been through a lot in five years at Minnesota. He has battled personal and family issues, most notably a stroke his father suffered during the winter of his sophomore year. To make things worse, Bertrand has battled injuries each year he’s been on campus starting with a broken hamate bone, sports hernia, hip surgery, as well as many other ailments. Through it all Bertrand has maintained the highest degree of character, work ethic and leadership. He’s been involved in the community, has volunteered his time around the Minneapolis area and helped assist numerous camps and clinics on campus. Bertrand is one of the unquestioned leaders of Gopher Baseball, especially during the difficult season of 2021 and how COVID affected the baseball program. He’s maintained a mental toughness and found a way to make those around him better.”

Bertrand is extremely active in the community. He is a member of Minnesota’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was also formerly the President of Purple Crush, the Manteno High School Athletic Student Body Organization.


In his time with the Gophers, Bertrand has played a major role in the success of the program. He was a member of Minnesota’s 2018 squad that won the Big Ten regular season title, tournament title, and reached the Super Regionals.

Bertrand hit .295 last season and he is off to an extremely hot start in 2022, batting .533 in five games.

For this career, Bertrand has hit 15 home runs to go along with a .507 SLG.
