Smith is majoring in applied mathematics at California.
In 2020, Smith was named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year. She was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-American that same season.
She has been named to both the Academic All-District Team and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll three times.
Character
Smith is now in her fourth year serving as a team captain for Bears. Even amongst a four-person captain committee, she has managed to standout due to her experience as a leader.
She was instrumental in leading the team through the pandemic, organizing virtual activities and other events for the group to increase their connection as in-person events were limited.
Community
Smith is one of the best representatives for the women’s soccer program at California. She consistently works with her teammates and has been a leader amongst this tight-knight group.
Competition
Smith has been an All-Pac-12 selection three times in her career, earning first team honors once.
She has been a vital defender for the Bears, helping them become one of the best defenses in the country. In 2019, Smith appeared in 21 games as Cal allowed only 15 goals. That mark was second in the conference and top 25 in the NCAA.
