Emme Olson

Classroom

Olson carries a 3.95 GPA while pursuing a degree in accounting and finance. She is in the Professional Accountancy five-year program at Illinois State.

Olson was awarded the 2020 Presidents’ Council Academic Excellence Award, given by the MVC. She earned a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team, is a consistent member on the Dean’s List, and has bene in thee AFNI Honor Roll every semester.

Lastly, Olson has been invited to Reggie’s Academic Banquet for the last three years.

Character

Olson, a team captain for the Redbirds, is an outstanding citizen. She has been a starter for the last three years and is a true leader.

Olson dedicates her time to both her schoolwork and influence in the community, showing how to be the perfect student-athlete.

Community

Olson has volunteered with numerous organizations while at Illinois State. She is involved with Team IMPACT and Operation Christmas Child, where she wraps and fills shoe boxes and then sends them to kids in need.

Olson has also participated in Notes to Nurses, providing COVID-19 check up calls to donors. In addition to those initiatives, Olson has volunteered at the Humane Society and is a deacon at her hometown church.

Competition

Olson has been extremely important on the field for the Redbirds. Last season, she hit .318 with 41 hits and 28 RBI while starting every game. Olson also recorded 64 putouts with a .928 fielding percentage.

For her career, at Illinois State, Olson has started in 115 games. She has a career average of .303 and has 106 hits, 73 RBI, and 53 runs to her name.
