Provenzano is majoring in sport management at Rutgers. She was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.

She is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree.

In 2020-21, Provenzano was named aa United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American and received United Soccer Coaches All-East Region first team recognition as well.

Character

Provenzano is entering her third season as a captain for the Scarlet Knights. She is the perfect role model, both on and off the field.

Provenzano, who earned the 2020-21 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, is always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The award is given to student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, these honorees must be in good academic standing and must have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

Her grit on the field fuels the Scarlet Knits through all challenges. Provenzano’s dedication to the program has seen her play through injuries, including scoring her first game winner with an injured and casted wrist. She answers the call for any requests of her or her teammates, always going above and beyond.

Community

During the last academic school year, Provenzano participated in an internship with Rutgers Athletics Leadership Development and Strategic Partnerships. She was able to manage the Brain Break Community Service Opportunities, which allows student-athletes to take a pause from athletics and academics in order to give back to the community.

In addition, Provenzano is involved in many other initiatives. She has participated with the Bobadilla Summer Soccer Academy, Rutgers Thank-a-Thon, SAAC Food Drive, and multiple toy drives for the New Brunswick Schools.

Competition

To start the season in 2021, Provenzano has contributed a goal and an assist while aiding in three shutouts. Following victories over Monmouth and La Salle, and recording a goal in the process, she was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career

In 2020-21, Provenzano received her first All-Region and All-Big Ten first team nods.

Throughout her career as a Scarlet Knight, Provenzano has started 67 or 74 games, including all 47 dating back to her sophomore year. Since 2019, she has captained a backline that has held 34 straight opponents to single-digit shots on goal. In that same time frame, Provenzano has added four goals and three assists.
