Garrison Brooks

Mississippi State
Communication Studies

Brooks earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from North Carolina last spring.

He is now pursuing a master’s degree at Mississippi State.

In his short time on campus, Brooks has already established himself as one of the leaders in the locker room. He does so with a tremendous work ethic and how he conducts himself on and off the court.

Brooks was a two-time team captain at North Carolina and was a representative on their Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was also a member of the Leadership Academy’s Cultivate program, where he served as a mentor for first-year students.

Brooks was an extremely active participant in the community at North Carolina.

He volunteered with the Special Olympics, Salvation Army’s Holiday Family Adoption, and Kids Holiday Clinic. Brooks also took part in pen pal programs with elementary schools students, created informative videos about voting, and gave video tours of the academic center on campus.

Brooks has amassed over 1,300 points and 800 rebounds between his time at both Mississippi State and North Carolina.

He was named a 2019-20 All-ACC second team pick with the Tar Heels after averaging 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Heading into his fifth season, Brooks was named to the All-SEC preseason second team.
