Classroom
Kensmil graduated from Stephen F. Austin this year. He carried a 3.52 GPA and earned his degree in kinesiology.
His success in the classroom earned him a spot on the All-Academic Honors Court, Dean’s List, and he was named a recipient of the NABC Academic Excellence Award.
Character
Kensmil was named the 2021 Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year.
He has continued to show an investment to the program, evidenced by his decision to further his commitment and return for his graduate season. Kensmil, a team captain, is a model student-athlete and will leave the program better than it was before his arrival.
Community
In his time at Nacogdoches, Kensmil has been the driving force behind multiple community outreach efforts. He has a proactive approach and philosophy towards bettering the surrounding area, which has led the Lumberjacks’ efforts to be among the highest in the athletic department.
Competition
Kensmil has had an extremely decorated career at Stephen F. Austin. He averaged 15.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last year en route to earning all-conference first team honors.
He has consistently improved his play when the Lumberjacks need it most, too. Kensmil’s averages have increased to 16.8 points and 7.9 rebounds during conference play. He helped lead SFA to a regular season championship last season and an incredible upset win over Duke.
For his career, Kensmil has a 44-8 record with the program. It’s the fourth-best winning percentage of any team in the nation ver the last two seasons.
