Classroom

Nicoletti earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education this past December, earning summa cum laude honors. She is now pursuing a Master of Education in Secondary Education.

She is a Building Champions Leadership Academy honoree and three-time WAC All-Academic selection. Recently, Nicoletti was awarded the GCU Roland L. Beck Senior Scholar-Athlete Award, given to a student-athlete who excels in the classroom, community, and on the field.

Character

Nicoletti demonstrates all the qualities that a coach could want in a player: outgoing, dedicated, and a hard-worker. She is always willing to go the extra step to perfect her craft.

Nicoletti puts in just as much work in the classroom as she does on the field—while making time for community service activities as well. She sets a great example for her peers on what it takes to be a selfless player when she puts the team first.

Community

Nicoletti has spent time volunteering with numerous organizations at Grand Canyon. She has worked with the GCU City Serve, Special Olympics of Arizona, Feed My Starving Children, Miracle League of Arizona, Banner Thunderbird, Arizona Softball Hall of Fame Tournament, and GCU Welcome Week.

Competition

Nicoletti is currently second in the nation in steals per game (.94) and third for total steals on the season (35) in her fourth year. With time to add to her total, she has already broken her single-season stolen bases record at Grand Canyon that she set last year—and is the Lopes all-time leader in career stolen bases.

Nicoletti had a great season for Grand Canyon last year, earning first team all-conference honors. She started in all 49 games and tallied a team-best BA (.361) with 56 hits, 38 runs scored, 22 walks, and a stellar OBP (.450). Nicoletti also stole 28 bases to become the Lopes’ DI-era leader for steals in a single season. She earned a spot on the WAC Tournament Team as well.

In her sophomore season, Nicoletti led the Lopes in BA (.380), OBP (.430), hits (30), and runs (21) while playing in every game.
