Grant Harrison had a 3.71 undergrad GPA in business administration and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors this past spring. He’s now enrolled in a Master’s of Business Administration program with an expected graduation date of December 2019. He has earned HL Fall & Spring Academic Honor Roll (3.2+ GPA) accolades in each semester eligible as well as Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (3.0+ GPA) honors during his career. His aspirations post-college are to work in a collegiate athletic department or in the front office of a professional sports team.

Character

A senior co-captain on the back line for the Titans, Harrison and his teammates are heavily involved with leadership initiatives on campus. He started college at age 15, taking classes at Macomb Community College and was part of the Early College of Macomb Program at Macomb CC, where he made the Dean’s List all three years. He also volunteer coaches for his old club soccer team, the Michigan Wolves-East and is one of two seniors on the 2018 Titans squad.

Community

In the community, Harrison has helped distribute more than 100 “Blessing Bags,” which are small bags of socks, soap, toothpaste, snacks, water, change and other items, to Grace Episcopal church in nearby Mount Clemens and other areas. He’s also served food at the church and has sponsored kids (buying books) at nearby Southfield Pace Academy, where his sister is a teacher. Along with his teammates Harrison also has been a part of Freshmen Move-In day at the university, assisting incoming freshman as they moved in on campus.

Competition

Harrison earned second-team All-Horizon League accolades on defense in 2017 and was one of four Titans to start all 19 games. As of nomination time he had logged 33 career starts on the back line, playing close to 3,000 minutes during the 2016 and 2017 seasons combined. After the 2017 season, Harrison was named a Top 20 player in the Horizon League by Top Drawer Soccer and was ranked at No. 7 by TDS entering the 2018 season.

Harrison earned the squad’s Defensive MVP honor at the 2017 team banquet.
