Classroom

Hailie Mace earned a 3.0 GPA in 2017-18 and was a three-time member of the director’s honor roll.

Character

Mace is the kind of player who will do whatever is possible to help her team. Out of need she moved into a defensive role as a freshman and quickly solidified her position in the backfield for the next two years. During her junior year, she was asked to play forward, and she responded by scoring a team-high 15 goals. In 2017, she scored a hat trick in the first half of a game against Santa Clara and then moved to defense for the second half.

Community

Mace has volunteered at events such as Prime Time Games (a full-inclusion, peer-mentor sports program) and served with a program called I’m Going to College, which encourages and motivates young kids to aspire to get a college education.

Competition

Mace was a first-team All-American and semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy in 2017 after scoring a team-high of 15 goals and 33 points. She won a multitude of other awards in her first season playing as a forward, receiving first-team All-West Region and All-Pac-12 acclaim as well as College Cup All-Tournament honors. As a sophomore defender in 2016, she earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors and has earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors five times in her career (four offensive, one defensive). In 2018, Mace earned her first two caps with the full U.S. National Team.
