Classroom

Isaac Copeland is currently working on his master’s degree after graduating from Nebraska in May 2018. Not only did he graduate in four years, but he was also a member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in 2017.

Character

Copeland has been one of the leaders of the program since arriving in January 2017, serving as a valuable team member on an off the court. Copeland overcame back surgery, which forced him to take a medical redshirt in 2016-17. He also tested the waters for the NBA Draft and had several workouts with NBA teams before returning to Nebraska for his senior year. He was chosen as one of NU’s Big Ten Media Day representatives.

Community

Copeland has helped the basketball program in several outreach areas including the annual Nebrasketball buddies youth camp for elementary kids in the Lincoln community.

Competition

Copeland is in his third season as a starter, as he started as a sophomore at Georgetown and the first five games before transferring to Nebraska in January 2017. Last year he was an honorable-mention All-Big Ten pick, averaging 12.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.0 block per game. He reached double figures 23 times, including eight 20-point efforts. As a freshman at Georgetown, he was a three-time Big East Rookie of the Week selection and named to the Big East All-Rookie Team in 2015. He has scored over 1,000 points and grabbed more than 500 rebounds in his college career.
