Isabella Gutierrez

Classroom

Gutierrez boasts a 3.99 GPA as a health sciences major. Winner of the 2021 Pinnacle Award, she is a member of Phi Eta Sigma.

She received the SoCon Commissioners Award twice and has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, SoCon Academic All-Conference Team two times, and Dean’s List three times.

Once she has graduated, Gutierrez plans on attending dental school.

Character

Gutierrez, a team captain for the Paladins, was recently appointed as Co-President of the Furman Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2021.

With the Greenville Children’s Hospital, she has orchestrated monthly meetings, guest speaker visits, and a student-athlete community service project. Gutierrez has also incentivized a movement to accept particular athletic events at Furman as cultural life programs.

She has developed an athletic support group amidst the pandemic that included gift bags for student-athletes. Likewise, Gutierrez developed ideas about community service work that can be done by Furman’s Athletic Department.

Community

Gutierrez has been involved in multiple community initiatives at Furman.

With Valiant Player, she volunteered to communicate and play music with children at the Greenville Hospital. During the pandemic, Gutierrez created arts and crafts, video messages, goody bags for children, and Valentine’s Day cards.

Helping with the Salvation Army, she cleaned dishes and served food. Gutierrez also helped clean the dining area after eating hours had finished.

As a member of the Furman SAAC, she is currently organization multiple projects that include drives, toiletry collections, and pumpkin carving competitions.

Competition

Gutierrez, the 2020-21 Southern Conference Player of the Year, is a two-time first team selection.

She has also been named to the 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region first team and 2018 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team.

Prior to the 2021 season, Gutierrez was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
