Canaan will graduate this May from Murray State with a degree in Advertising.
Character
Canaan has been a leader at Murray State from the moment he arrived. On and off the court he has proven to be trustworthy and a young man of high character.
Community
Canaan is a great example of how student athletes should be members of the community. He visits local schools on a regular basis and tries to fit in as many other local groups as possible.
Competition
Canaan excelled on the court during the 2011-12 season while Murray State went 31-2. When the season concluded, Canaan was named to seven All-America teams. He was also named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and is the preseason selection to win it again. The guard won the Great Alaska Shootout MVP as the Racers won the title. Canaan was Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week six times. Canaan finished last season averaging 19 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
