Jake Kuchmaner

East Carolina


Kuchmaner earned his bachelor’s degree in management last December. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Kinesiology.

He has earned numerous academic awards, including AAC All-Academic Team three times and ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll one times. In addition, Kuchmaner was named one of 21 male student-athlete recipients for the 2021 Spring NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.


Kuchmaner, now in his fifth-year, is an unspoken team leader. He is well-respected by his peers for his success on and off the field.


Since 2018, Kuchmaner has helped the Pirates accumulate over 3,000 hours of community service. He has personally committed over 100 hours himself.

Kuchmaner is also a two-year East Carolina Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President.


Kuchmaner is a three-year letterman and has helped the Pirates to 148 wins over his career. He has appeared in three NCAA Regionals, two Super Regionals, won two AAC regular season titles, and one AAC tournament with East Carolina.

In 201, Kuchmaner was named to the All-AAC first team after he tossed the first perfect game in program history.

For his career, Kuchmaner has appeared in 47 games and posted a 17-6 record. He has recorded 149 strikeouts in 185 innings, allowing only 90 runs for a 3.94 ERA.
