Jake Noviello

Finance and Economics

Noviello has maintained a 3.69 GPA as a double major in finance and economics.

Last season, he was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team after posting a 3.8 GPA in the spring.

Noviello is a two-year team captain for the Stags and has continued to show perseverance while batting through multiple injuries in his career. Before the season was cut short, Noviello was scheduled to miss the entire 2020 campaign with an arm injury. He rebounded by tossing one of the best seasons in school history.

Noviello was scheduled to pitch in the Cape Cop League following his incredible season but had to have a surgery removing a blood clot from his elbow.

Co-President of Fairfield’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee, Noviello has been a voice for the student-athlete in the Fairfield community. He helped engineer a student-athlete talent show which was fundraised to help Fairfield hockey student Charlie Capaldo, who is battling cancer and raised over $2,000.

Noviello has also been instrumental in initiatives around campus as the SAAC has started mental health programs.

Noviello enters the season fresh off one of the best campaigns in program history, posting a perfect 9-0 record and a 1.47 ERA. He also led the conference and finished top-10 in the country in WHIP (0.88) and fewest walks per innings (1.20).

He helped lead the Stags to their first-ever win in an NCAA Regional and also tossed 8.2 innings in the MAAC Championships. For his play, Noviello was named to the All-MAAC first team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Regional second team.
