Joiner is on track to graduate this May from Ole Miss. He carries a 3.13 GPA and will earn his degree in multidisciplinary studies.

He was named to the 2020-21 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll and is a three-time AD’s Honor Roll selection with the Rebels.

Character

One of only a few veterans, Joiner is a leader on and off the court for the program.

He demonstrated his leadership perfectly last season. Joiner stayed at the FedEx Student-Athlete Center until 10 PM on a Friday night to support his teammate. He was afraid that if he wasn’t there, his teammate would leave without finishing the work he needed to pass his class. Joiner stayed and helped him.

Community

Joiner was named to the 2020-21 SEC Community Service Team. He is involved in both his hometown and around campus.

Joiner regularly reads to students in Mississippi as part of the Reading with Rebels Program. He has been able share stories selected by teachers to promote reading and good behavior in elementary schools. Joiner is passionate about this and encourages the students to read more. He entered the program as part of the Stronger Together MS initiative, which focuses on promoting reading by students in pre-k through third grade.

He has led efforts for Adopt A Basket, feeding local families during the holiday season. Joiner helped lead the project, giving back to the community to ensure those in need had food during the winter months.

Joiner’s efforts were not stopped due to the pandemic. Along with his teammates, he found opportunities to engage with elementary school students virtually to encourage hard work in he classroom.

Competition

Last season, Joiner was one of only four Rebels to play in every game. He finished second on the team with 12.0 points per game and placed third in the conference in free-throw percentage (84.5). He scored in double figures 16 times - including five 20-point efforts.

Prior to Ole Miss, Joiner suited up at CSU Bakersfield. He set seven schools in just two years and was named to the All-WAC first team as a sophomore. Joiner averaged double figure scoring through his time with the Roadrunners, which included 64 games.
