Character

Blossomgame overcame a compound fracture in his left leg, which he suffered after his senior year in high school in 2012. He underwent two surgeries on it and redshirted as a Clemson freshman in 2012-13. He has led the Tigers the past two season in scoring. Blossomgame earned the team’s Tiger Pride Award in 2013 and Tiger Strength Award in 2015.

Community

Blossomgame spearheaded a team-initiated community service project this fall. He led his teammates to put on an hour-long basketball clinic for ClemsonLIFE, a campus organization designed to educate students with intellectual disabilities. He also has participated in Tiger Wonderland each December, helping provide a memorable Christmas for underprivileged children in the local community.

Competition

Blossomgame was one of five players named to the All-ACC First Team in 2016 both by league media and the head coaches. He was also named the ACC’s Most Improved Player as a junior, when he averaged a career-best 18.7 points per game. He was named Naismith Trophy and ACC Player of the Week in January 2016 after leading the Tigers to consecutive ranked wins over Louisville, Duke and Miami. Blossomgame was invited to and excelled in the 2016 NBA Draft Combine but opted to return for his senior season despite several late first-round projections.
