Haig, an academic All-Conference her sophomore season, holds a 3.968 GPA as a marketing major with a minor in sport administration. In 2006 she made the AD Honor Roll, Dean’s List, was a Red and Black Scholar, Dean’s Scholar and a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. Haig has recently been named to the 2007 ESPN the Magazine Academic First Team All District IV.

Character

Considered the ultimate student athlete, Haig competes at the highest level athletically, having played for the US Soccer U-20 and U-21 teams. Academically she holds a 3.968 GPA while continually reaching out to the community selflessly helping and giving of herself.

Community

Much of Haig’s spare time is spent traveling with the US Soccer program, but during her time on campus she is active working with the Boys and Girls Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Special Olympics, promoting the U of L Cervical Cancer research program, Kosair Children’s Hosptial, and Southeast Christian Church/Cabbage Patch. She spent her spring break last season working in West Virginia on a Habitat for Humanity project.

Competition

In 2006 Haig was named Fourth Team All-American by Soccer Buzz and received First Team All-Region and All-BIG EAST honorable mention. She spent a portion of the spring with the US Soccer U-21 National Team after missing the first four matches of the season competing in Russia with the U-20’s. After returning to the team she established a school record with a 0.49 GAA and did not allow a goal over the final 376 minutes of the season. Haig currently holds the school record for single season and career shutouts.
