Classroom

Johnathan Williams completed his bachelor of business administration degree with a concentration in entrepreneurship and innovation this December. He has already been accepted into Gonzaga’s Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program and will starting pursuing his graduate degree in January. In the future, Williams hopes to use his degree to become an entrepreneur and spends his free time trying to think up the next “big thing.”

Character

Although Williams is quiet and mild-mannered by nature, he has proven to be an invaluable leader on the team. He has a tireless work ethic, has made individual sacrifices and is extremely humble in his approach to life, academics and basketball. Williams is responsible, friendly and has the attitude and characteristics that are desired in all Zag student-athletes as they represent Gonzaga University.

Community

Throughout his three years at Gonzaga, Williams has volunteered his time at a number of our community service events. Some of the organizations/events he’s volunteered at include N7/Coeur d’Alene Tribe basketball clinic, Spokane Boys & Girls Club, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center, and Camp Goodtimes. He has also made numerous visits to local elementary schools to spend time with Spokane youth.

Competition

Williams is a force on the court. After leading last year’s national runner-up team in rebounds, he was selected preseason All-West Coast Conference along with the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award watch lists. Williams averaged 10.2 points per game last season, while making 40 percent of his shots from behind the arc. In 2016-17, he finished eighth in the WCC in rebounds per game, third in field-goal percentage and ninth in blocks.
