Classroom

Cryer maintains a 4.0 GPA in accounting and is a six-time member on the Southeastern President’s List. He was named the 2009-10 Southland Conference Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year and was recognized as Southeastern’s Outstanding Junior (2010). Cryer was a first-team academic All-Southland Conference selection in both 2009 and 2010, and was named a first-team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VI selection in 2009.

Cryer is a person of strong character who thrives in his role as student-athlete.

Community

Cryer has served as president of the Southeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee since the 2008-09 academic year.

Competition

After his junior season, Cryer was a third-team All-Southland Conference catcher after helping the Lions to a school-record 40 victories. Since Southeastern moved to Division I in 1981, Cryer is the school’s all-time leader in hit by pitches (63), eighth in total hits (175), tied for fifth in doubles (35) and ninth in RBI (108). He has started in 152 games in his three-year career, which is the eighth-best total in school history.
