Julie James has received numerous accolades throughout her career at Baylor, including the following: scholar All-American, two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team, six-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and four-time Baylor Dean’s List.
Character
James has served as team captain for the last two seasons.
Community
James regularly serves and volunteers with teammates in the Waco community. She has participated in various local and international mission work, including going to Costa Rica. James went with the Baylor team on the visit to the children’s cancer hospital to serve and play with the kids, and she has volunteered with Full Armor, which is an organization that instills leadership skills and Christian values with local children in her hometown.
Competition
James is one of the most respected midfielders in the country as she was selected to the USWNT U-23 team, received the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American title (second team), named to the All-South Region (second team), and awarded two All-Big 12 First Team honors (2017, 2016).
