Kaitlin Inglesby is a senior and expects to graduate from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in June. Inglesby holds a 3.08 overall GPA. She is majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health and carries a 3.55 GPA within her major. Inglesby was one of 11 student-athlete selected to study abroad in Tahiti in the summer of 2013. The program was titled Anthropology and Athletics in Tahiti. She is interested in pursuing a career as a pediatric oncology nurse.

Character

Kaitlin Inglesby has faced many setbacks in her life, but she has not let those setbacks deter her from helping other people. Inglesby was born with 80% hearing loss in both ears and wears hearing aids in both ears. She volunteers twice a week in tutoring deaf and hard-of-hearing kids at a local middle school in Seattle. Inlgesby has become pen pals with an 11-year-old boy from Oklahoma, who is hearing-impaired like Inglesby. The boy and his family reached out to Inglesby in May of 2013, and they have been friends ever since. He dreams of playing college sports, like Inglesby. Inglesby was diagnosed with Graves Disease at age 14 and is now a survivor of the disease. Inglesby was hit in the face with a line drive from 36 feet away at softball practice in August 2010. As a result of the injury, she had to undergo two different plastic surgeries over the course of a year. Despite all of these injuries and setbacks, Inglesby is one of the top two-way players in the history of college softball.

Community

Throughout her four years at Washington, Kaitlin Inglesby has been very involved in the University of Washington community, as well as the local community. Inglesby was born with 80% hearing loss in both ears and wears hearing aids in both ears. She volunteers twice a week in tutoring deaf and hard-of-hearing kids at a local middle school in Seattle. She also works with Coins For Kids, which helps raise money for local Seattle non-profit organizations. Coins for Kids also works to provide disadvantaged kids with warm clothes. Inglesby also volunteers with aspiring softball players and grows the game by teaching them about softball.

Competition

Kaitlin Inglesby is one of the top two-way players in collegiate softball history. Inglesby was named First-Team All-American, First-Team All-Pacific Region, and First-Team All-Pac-12 in 2013 after going 23-9 in the circle with a 1.95 ERA and batting .354 at the plate with 12 home runs and 62 RBI. Inlgesby led the Huskies in wins, ERA, appearances, saves, and innings pitched as a pitcher in 2013. She also led the team in home runs, RBI, total bases, and walks as a hitter in 2013. In 2012, Inglesby was named First-Team All-Pac-12, as well as Second-Team All-American, Second-Team All-Pacific Region, and Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 Academic. She was named NFCA National Players of the Week for the week of February 6-12, 2012 after hitting .400 (6x15), with 4 runs scored, 3 home runs, 6 RBI, and 3 walks, while also going 3-0 in the circle, with 1 save, a 1.17 ERA and 14 SO over 18 innings pitched. In 2011, Inglesby was named First-Team All-Pacific Region, Pac-10 All-Freshman Team, and Second-Team All-Pac-10.
