Kameron McGusty

Exploratory Arts and Sciences

McGusty graduated from Miami this May with a degree in sport administration. He is now pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in exploratory arts and sciences.

He is a two-time ACC Honor Roll and two-time Book Buster Club selection. McGusty was also named to the Dean’s List once and AD’s Honor Roll twice.

McGusty has been a model representative for Miami. In his three years with the program, he has perfectly demonstrated the ideals of the program in all aspects. He leads with both actions and words - and his commitment was showed when he elected to return to the Hurricanes for a fifth season.

McGusty consistently works hard and pushes those around him to do so as well. He exemplifies many of the ideals of what a student-athlete should be.

McGusty has been involved in a number of community service initiatives at Miami. He has participated in a hurricane relief fund and “Operation Christmas Child.”

In addition, he has been a part of Miami’s continued Fight4Literacy campaign and visited a nearby Boys & Girls Club.

McGusty is one of the most accomplished players in the ACC. In his stints at both Oklahoma and Miami, he has recorded over 1,200 points with an average of 10.9 per game. He is also on pace to become a 1,000-point scorer in just three years as a Hurricane.

Leading the Hurricanes to the quarterfinals, McGusty was named to the ACC All-Tournament second team last season after averaging 17.7 points per game in the event.

He also received accolades during his tenure as a Sooner. McGusty was named a 2016-17 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and also earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team.
