Classroom

Smith has been successful in her studies at Western Kentucky, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management, and now Louisville. She received multiple accolades including recognition on the Dean’s List twice and President’s List four times. Smith was also awarded with the C-USA Academic Medal and is a two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration at Louisville.

Character

Smith transferred to Louisville and has only been on campus for a short time but she has already established herself as a leader. She brings a sense of confidence and knowledge that has allowed her too quickly acclimate to a new environment. Smith has been an integral part of helping the team set the tone for the season.

Community

Smith volunteered with multiple organizations while she was at Western Kentucky. She read to students, participated with the Southern Kentucky Special Olympics, and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Competition

Smith had a tremendous four years with Western Kentucky, earning all-conference first team honors twice. She produced 27 home runs and 113 RBI over her career — in addition to throwing out 38 attempted base stealers.

Smith had a special season last year while leading the Toppers to a C-USA title and NCAA tournament berth. She added five home runs, 23 RBI, and 28 runs scored to her career totals.

She enjoyed much of the same success as a sophomore, finishing the season with a .321 BA to go with 12 home runs and 46 RBI.

In Smith’s first season with Western Kentucky, she started all 54 games and earned a spot on the conference tournament team after hitting .600.
