Classroom
Somers received his bachelor’s degree in general social science last spring. He is now enrolled in Oregon’s sports product master’s program.
Character
Hailing from Hillsboro, Oregon, Somers’ leadership has made an impact on all of his peers. His selflessness is extremely noticeable and has bettered the program.
Community
Somers has been an active participant during his time at Oregon. He has spent time at a local food bank, which he started doing as a high schooler. Somers also works with Team IMPACT, spending time with the James Dahl. Dahl, who suffers from Rasmussen’s Encephalitis, spent four years as an integral part of the Ducks’ program before ‘graduating.’
Sommers has also volunteered with O-Heroes, a student-athlete group that has a mission to make a difference in the community. In addition, Somers volunteered with the Miracle League in Arizona as a freshman.
Competition
Somers had an incredible campaign last season and earned All-PAC-12 first team and Collegiate Baseball third team All-America honors.
