Character

From Head Coach Emily Mansur: “It has been my pleasure to coach Laura over these past years and watch her flourish at Hofstra as she enters her senior year. Laura joined our program in New York as a freshman from Italy with only a basic understanding of the English language and American culture. From the moment she joined our university she not only embraced our standard of excellence but she exceeded it and has raised the standard for our whole program. Laura has an extremely great work ethic in all areas of her life. This is shown by her outstanding GPA and both individual and team honors won on the volleyball court. She possess wonderful leadership capabilities, which is why she has been a captain on our team since her sophomore season. She sets a goal to achieve for herself and the people around her and puts a plan in place to help lead them there. One hidden characteristic of Laura that I admire is her desire to constantly learn and when faced with a challenge, she is willing to ask for help from those who can teach her.  She demonstrates this by her acceptance of other cultures and people on and around our community. This summer she even chose to broaden her horizons further and travel to China for a study abroad business class. Laura is a wonderful ambassador of not just our program, but of our entire university and this is because of the wonderful women.”

Masciullo is also a team captain.

Masciullo has volunteered with Ruff House Rescue, where she walked the dogs at the shelter and cleaned their cages.
