Logan Maccani has a 3.305 cumulative grade-point average as an accounting major. He is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Character

Maccani was voted by him teammates as a captain for the 2019 season. He has served on the Buckeyes’ Leadership Council and is charged with setting the tone for this year’s Buckeyes in everything that they do on the field and off the field, in the classroom and in the community. Members were voted on to the Leadership Council by their peers.

Community

Maccani is among the most active members of the men’s lacrosse team in regard to community service activities. He has worked with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio where he helped at the house with ad hoc projects such as cleaning, building shelves, taking down Christmas decorations, etc. With the 2nd and Seven Foundation, he has read to second-graders around the Columbus community. He has worked with the Upper Arlington Youth Lacrosse Clinic and Are You Fit as a Buckeye, an event through Ohio State in which youth come and participate in fitness drills. Additionally, Maccani has volunteered with Slice of Columbus, an event in downtown Columbus that raises money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he assisted with set-up.

Competition

Maccani has played in all 51 career games over the last three seasons and is the Buckeyes’ active career leader in ground balls (63) and caused turnovers (25). He also had five goals and six assists for 11 total points as a defensive midfielder. Thanks to his play, the Buckeyes have led the Big Ten in goals-against average for two straight years. Maccani had 25 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in 2017 while helping Ohio State reach the program’s first-ever Final Four and National Championship Game. He also had a career high three goals and three assists during the 2017 season.
