Community

Since arriving at Loyola Chicago, Williamson has been extremely active in the surrounding communities.

He has volunteered at Misericordia Heart of Mercy, which is a home for children and adults that are challenged by mental and physical disabilities. Williamson has also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and was one of the key student-athletes in the foundation of Loyola’s Rambler Alliance for Equity.

In addition, he has hosted camps for the inner city youth on Chicago’s west side and was a writer/narrator for a documentary titled “The Loyola Project.” It was produced by Patrick Creadon and will air on CBS during the Final Four.

Williamson is so highly regarded in the community that he has had prominent roles in many on-campus events, including as a speaker at Founder’s Dinner, Freshman Convocation, and Commencement.

Competition

Williamson is a three-year starter for the Ramblers. His career coincides with one of the greatest runs in program history.

He is now the winningest four-year player in Loyola Chicago history, recording 99 wins since 2017. Williamson has won three MVC regular-season champions and two MVC tournaments. Enjoying tremendous success in the postseason as well, the Ramblers have earned reached two NCAA Sweet 16’s and a Final Four.

Williamson has also garnered individual accolades for his play. He was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year while also earning both All-MVC second team and NABC All-Region second team recognition last season. Loyola Chicago went 26-5 and upset No. 1 seed Illinois in the NCAA tournament, where Williamson led the team in scoring.

During Loyola’s tremendous season in 2017-18 that culminated in reaching the Final Four, Williamson was named to both the MVC All-Freshman and All-Bench squads. He helped lead the Ramblers to a school-record 32 wins.
