Madison Duello owns a 3.567 cumulative GPA. She is an eight-time member of the dean’s list and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. She was recognized as a 2017-18 and 2018-19 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for having a yearly GPA of 3.7 or better. She is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, a national college athlete honor society.

Character

Duello worked to become a two-year starter after returning from ACL surgery during her true sophomore season. During the 2018 summer camp season, she raised her hand when asked who wants to be an All-American and then became one in 2018. She was nicknamed “Smooth Jazz” by Head Coach Kelly Sheffield for her easy-going nature.

Community

Duello has volunteered nearly 30 hours. Events and causes she’s in which she’s involved include the following: Hunger Heroes, Badger Fridays at American Family Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics, United Cerebal Palsy, WOCA Run/Walk and Caleb’s Pitch at American Family Children’s Hospital.

Competition

Duello was an AVCA All-America Third Team selection in 2018 and a VolleyballMag.com All-America Fourth Team selection. She was also an AVCA All-Northeast Region selection in 2018 and a first-team All-Big Ten member that year. She was named to the K-State Invitational All-Tournament team in 2017.
