Classroom

Barberic has been the embodiment of a student-athlete at Buffalo.

She graduated this past May, carrying a 3.23 GPA as a communications major. In her career, Barberic has earned Academic All-MAC recognition three times.

She is currently enrolled in Buffalo’s Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs program.

Character

Barberic has served as team captain for the past three years and has emerged as the face of the program. She is one several local players on the team and takes pride in her ability to connect with the community.

Head Coach Shawn Burke:
“When your best player trains the hardest and puts in the most time in the offseason, good things seem to follow. Barberic has instilled a culture of excellence within our program and has taken this team to newfound heights. Her dedication to her craft and constant drive for improvement is the reason she is one of the top players in the country.”

Community

Hailing from New York, community service in the Buffalo community is extremely important to Barberic.

This sport has provided opportunities for her, so it’s important to her to be able to share the game she loves through clinics and events at schools. With the Buffalo women’s soccer team, Barberic has helped host several free clinics throughout the community. She has also visited several elementary schools in an effort to help grow the game and inspire young children to pick it up.

Likewise, Barberic has been passionate as an affiliate of TeamImpact. They match children facing chronic illnesses with college teams to help develop relationships and skills that help them persevere through their journey. For the last several seasons, Sarah Reid has been a member of the Bulls team and is always present on the bench.

Off the pitch, Barberic helps with ‘Keep the Water Blue,’ where she participates in events that clean up garbage and other waste in the community.

Competition

Barberic has been a mainstay for the Bulls, starting all 73 games in her four-plus seasons.

She became the player in program history to be named a second team All-American last season, also earning 2020 MAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. Barberic is a two-time All-MAC selection, earning first team honors once.

She has cemented herself as one of the best players in program history, currently ranking sixth with both 30 career goals and 76 points, as well as 13th with 14 assists. Barberic currently leads the MAC and ranks fifth in the nation in goals per game (1.0), while also ranking 10th in points per game (2.29), 12th in game-winning goals (3), 15th in total goals (7), and first in penalty kicks (1.000).
