For 2018-19, she was named BGSU’s Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, which is given to just one male and one female in the entire athletic department. “Outside of her on-field awards that prove her incredible soccer ability, Mo is simply a wonderful all-around person. She works tirelessly to be perfect in the classroom; she consistently creates opportunities for community service; she regularly seeks advice on how to improve and makes strides to follow through with every aspect. Moreover, she has grown into this woman from a shy, awkward freshman who could easily let her emotions overcome her. Whatever Mo does with her life, she will be a success because of the drive and dedication she shows every day.” - Head Coach Matt Fannon

Kennedy volunteers at the Wood County Hospital each week, shadowing an occupational therapist and working with patients. She also is involved with the women’s soccer team’s Breakfast Buddies program, thorough which team members go to area elementary schools to eat breakfast and spend time with the kids.

Kennedy entered this season ranked No. 91 in the nation on the Top Drawer Soccer preseason list of the top 100 players in the country and was ranked No. 2 on the TDS preseason list of the MAC’s top 20 players. As of nomination time, she had two goals and four points through three games, tying for the team lead in both categories. Last season, Kennedy was the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-MAC First Team. She also was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Second Team and the OCSA All-Ohio First Team. Starting all 22 matches for the MAC regular-season and tournament champions, Kennedy scored 20 points on five goals and 10 assists and tied for the team lead in assists. She also tied the BGSU single-season record in that category, which was a record that she already shared. Currently she has career totals of 12 goals, 24 assists and 48 points at BG and is third in BGSU history in career assists. She is tied for 10th in school history in career points and deadlocked for 12th in goals.
