Mauro Cichero has over a 3.0 GPA and will graduate in the spring with a bachelors degree in applied physiology and sport management.
Character
One of the hardest workers on the team, Cichero has a great work ethic and is very much respected in the locker room. He was named a team captain, and his effort and attitude are contagious as he brings a positive mindset each day.
Community
Cichero has done countless hours of community service during his time at SMU. He takes time out of his busy schedule to give back to those less fortunate and always makes himself available to help out friends and even people that he doesn’t know.
Competition
Cichero was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for the second straight year (2016, 2017). On August 28, Cichero was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after recording his first career hat trick. Other accolades include: NSCAA All-East Region Third Team (2016), All-American Athletic Conference Second Team (2016), MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist (2015), NSCAA All-East Region First Team (2015), NSCAA DI All-America First Team (2015), AAC Offensive Player of the Year (2015) and unanimous AAC First Team (2015).
