Max Engelbrekt is pursuing a master of business administration after graduating with a degree in finance. His GPA during his undergraduate studies was 3.41, and he was a 2016 Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team selection.

Character

Now in his fifth season at Oregon State, Engelbrekt has become a team leader through experience and mentorship. He missed the 2013 College World Series due to injury, but still traveled to be there for his team. He missed all of the 2015 season, also due to injury, but returned for his redshirt junior season in 2016 to post 16 saves.

Community

Engelbrekt has been active in the community, participating in many team events throughout his tenure at Oregon State, including camps with youth in the area. This past offseason, he and the team helped build (and in some cases refurbish) a running track at a local high school.

Competition

He has appeared in 64 games for Oregon State, all in relief, and is 8-5 with a 2.33 ERA. He has accumulated 17 saves, which entering 2017, ranks as the fifth-best career mark in Oregon State history. His 11 saves as a redshirt junior are tied for sixth-most in a season at OSU.
