Classroom
Burton earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois while earning a 4.0 GPA. She is now maintaining that incredible feat while pursuing a master’s degree in education.
She was named the OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year last season, a 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, and is a four-time OVC Academic Medal of Honor winner.
Character
Burton serves as team captain for the Panthers while leading in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.
She spearheaded Eastern Illinois’ involvement with Team IMPACT, where they help special needs children. Burton has also completed her student teaching at the local high schools while helping mentor the students.
Community
In addition to her work with Team IMPACT, Burton volunteers at the Regional Special Olympics on campus each year. She has also worked numerous youth camps, clinics, and read to elementary aged students.
Competition
En route to a historic season where she set the school record for single-season home runs, Burton was tabbed the 2021 OVC Player of the Year and earned first team All-Region honors.
She currently ranks in the top-five in home runs, stolen bases, and runs scored at Eastern Illinois.
